Bois de Liesse GUEPE offers day camps for kids

The Bois de Liesse is a 159-hectare park in Montreal's north end. The eastern part of it is in Ahuntsic-Cartierville on the shore of the Rivière-des-Prairies. The western, larger part is inland and consists of a thickly wooded part of Ville Saint-Laurent. They're linked by a trail going under Highway 13, which goes across Louis-Bisson bridge at this point.
The waterside part of the park, wooded and facing a close by and also fairly wooded part of Laval at a point where the Rivière-des-Prairies is narrow, offers bird watching, walking and cycling trails, and of course views on the water. The inner part of the park is very densely wooded. The path is designed to carry the walker or cyclist over the terrain, whether it's wet or dry, marsh or brook. The inner wetlands are very pretty in summertime and the wooden walkways allow the visitor to feel very close to the natural setting without damaging it. This park is wild enough that you don't hear or see much of the surrounding residential or industrial activity. Walking and cycling in summer, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter, are the basic points of this park. Rental of skis and snowshoes is offered. There is very little nearby by way of services, so bring your own water and snacks if you plan a walk here. To get to Bois de Liesse take the 69 bus west from Henri-Bourassa metro and then the 68 bus to the entrance. It's also accessible via the Gouin Boulevard bike path and it's not too far from Sunnybrooke commuter train station on the Deux-Montagnes line. There's also some pay parking right beside Highway 13 near the river.
